Has anybody ever been in aircraft metal technology for the airforce? |
Im curious about this job. What are some civilian jobs you can do with this kind of training? I would love to fabricate custom bicycle frames and parts one day would this carry over well? I am an AM2 in the Navy, Aircraft Structural Mechanic. I worked on the SH-60B helicopter for 8 years. Rivets, Metal Fabrication, Fiberglass, Painting, Hydraulics, landing gears and tires, I did alot on that helicopter. If I had wanted to do more or a more specific job then all I would have had to do is request it. I cant speak for the Air Force but the Navy has specific jobs such as MR, MM, AM, HT they all work with metals and fabrication of equipment. Look them up on a Navy website and check them out. Also Navy Aviation "I" level is very specific on what the sheet metal worker does, you can for instance request metal fabrication and there you are. Hope this Helps. |
