How hard is it ro switch a flip flop hub on a bike?

i am looking to buy a fixed gear and one of my friends said it is really hard to switch the hub and cud cost a lot of money at a bike shop

If you mean replacing a hub with a flip-flop hub...

1. the cost of the hub
and
2. the cost of rebuilding the wheel with the new hub.

If the wheel is in very good shape the old spokes may be able to be used. If the new hub has a different hub diameter or the spokes can't be reused, then add this cost in as well.

The total for this would be around $100
This would be the cost of a new flip flop wheel as well.
