Freeride bikes for 拢1000 or less challenge =s?

Right then, ive been given a 拢1000 budget to get a bike and i think freeride is for me. soo . . .
Does anybody have any opinions on what i could get as i no they aint cheap so under my budget is gunu be a bit of a challenge!!

I have to be able to buy it from a bike shop tho =S cant be from online / ebay and cant be second hand.
I dont mind if its older as long as a shop would be able to order it in or get hold of one.

This aint gunu be easy so any help would be wiked!!

The 2007 kona stinky is retailing for about 拢900 now, so you could get one of them.

I've got one at the minute and there great. If your from the united kingdom then Evans Cycles deal them.

Only problem is that they are still expensive with them. Again; if your from the UK then pick up a copy of Mountain Biking UK (MBUK) from a supermarket and lots of companies are selling the 2007 still.
