Should I choose car, or motorcycle? |
Ok so here I am. I have had a Driver/class E (chauffeurs) for a few years now, and I have been thinking about adding a class M (motorcycle) to my repitoire. I began with a Doodlebug when I was 9 years old.(Does anybody remember the Doodlebug?) I graduated through Lambretta scooters, various small motorcycles, and have owned and toured on 2 big road burners. Two wheels are fun, and a great way to travel. A bike is fine, but you also need to think about where you live because inclement weather is a drag. Does it snow, is it cold, or is there a rainy season or is it really really HOT for part of the year where you live? Keep these things in mind as well. I own a bike and live in Florida...you're thinking - perfect! NO...it's very HOT and rainy right now, so it's not fun to ride in the heat and get caught in those afternoon downpours here where a vehicle is much more safe. While the gas mileage is great, I prefer my car in the summer and my bike in the fall and winter. get the bike.... everyone says motorcycles are dangerous, but that's becuase they're retarded.... a motorcycle in the wrong hands is just as dangerous (if not less) than a car in the wrong hands.... if you're driving either on the road you should be taught how to do so.... until then, you're a rolling time bomb. It is much cheaper to own a motorcycle in both gas and insurance. The equipment will pay for itself over time or possibly right away if you include it in the cost of the bike. If safety is not one of your considerations then the bike is the way to go. I say if you want to choose between a car or bike and have neither, go with the car in case of rain, snow, or ice. If you already have a car and want another one or a motorcycle, I say get the motorcycle. I love motorcycles. I've had almost 30 in the past years, have 4 currently, but I would never just have a bike and no car. Car, go for a car...its safer...and more convenient... Going on what your driver classes are im going to say you are living in Missouri. If the question is having one or the other and not being able to have both man you know what winter is like here. Get a car. If you can have both then yeah get a bike and ride it when weather permits, and like some posters have stated, you still have to buy groceries and things like that. I bought a bike for the fuel economy and to keep miles off my truck but I still wouldnt be without my truck. The only way id use bike only transportation would be if I had no choice. I live in Ireland and I only drive a bike. That is because I am a student and I can not justify having both (there is a train service from my house to the university). |
