Insurance for motorcycle.? |
I have a perfect driving record. full coverage on my car is $60 a month, and it's a fairly nice car. the fact that i have USAA (military insurance) helps of course. I had my r6 for 2 years and it was my only transportation. i never insured it though. that is what got me my 1st and only ticket (very expensive ticket for no insurance). so with the new bike i am thinking about getting, an r1, i decided to get a quote on insurance for it through USAA expecting that it would be the cheapest. for full coverage they quoted me $630 PER MONTH on the r1 and $445 PER MONTH on the r6. needless to say i cant afford to pay that on something that is not my primary trans. liability would only be $70 per month but with such a beautiful bike i would hate to do it. but then again if i crashed it hard enought to not be able to fix it myself i would assume that i'm probably dead or atleast paralyzed. any advice or cheaper insurance companies? thanks im 21. progressive is the company that USAA uses for motorcycle insurance. they were the cheapest i found. companies like Geico won't even cover me because of my 1 and only ticket. they told me that they don't cover anyone for motorcycles if they have ever had a moving violation. But if you are over 25 you shouldn't have a big problem with getting inexpensive insurance. My suggestion is to shop around and compare, or call an insurance "broker" (not an agent) and have them do it for you. They will actually do the shopping around for you free of charge. Check State Farm's rates... they were always cheapest for me... |
