Are insurance cost values correct on motor bikes? |
if you put a value on your bike, why is it when you come to claim they only pay half or less, why don`t the insurance just tell you at the beginning thats all there going to pay when you come to claim . I would like to recommend you some useful infomation here. If you are buying any new vehicle, car, truck, motorcycle, or whatever without a substantial down payment you need to purchase GAP insurance to cover that amount that the primary insurance does not cover. It is fairly inexpensive, but you generally have to ask for it. I had a friend total a brand new Jeep and had to pay many thousands of dollars out of pocket because they owed more than the estimated value of the vehicle. That is generally the case unless you almost have it paid off or put a huge down payment on it. HELLO they give you what your bike is worth. They dont have to give you more than that. That wouldn't make since to be an insurance company if you they were to give you a brand new bike, if yours is a year old. They give you what is considered blue book value on the bike. Don't accept their first offer, scour your local papers for the same bike and show them the prices that secondhand, same age models are being sold at, include some dealer prices as well. Yea, yours stuck with the value you get. |
