Bike insurance question?

motor bike is worth 拢600 have comprehensive insurance but excess is 拢500.
A car has crashed into the back of me yesterday and pushed me into car in front. My bike is badly damaged and i broke my arm.
if i claim on my insurance will the excess still come off my claim even though i am claiming off car that hit me?
Does anyone know how excess works?

If its not your fault you can claim any costs including excess off the other persons insurance.

claim off his insurance he went into you! and since he pushed you into the other car they should claim off his insurance as well. That is only if the police find that you were in the right and it wasnt your fault .
There extremely anti-bikers in ireland and england so dont be afraid to get your solicitor or layer involved they will put your mind at ease and find out every bit of information! If they do find you in the wrong object and request a different police sector investigates the matter!
your insurance shouldnt be affected if your in the right because all claims will be made off the offenders insurance. Even if you do claim off your insurance, which i wouldnt advise, you should only loose your no claims bonus if its not protected other then that you should be find dont worry =)

In the states it works like this...
You deal with your insurance company. If the accident is ruled to be another party's fault, then your deductible, or excess, will be waived, and you owe nothing. If your bike is totalled out, then you will receive a check for its value.
