Building a bike?

Which should I run full Dura Ace or Full SRAM RED?
I want to build a racer bike for a little bit of racing and rides with friends.
I am looking for something like Pinarello, Tomaso, Derosa, Orcea, and Colagno type quality.

Full Carbon, very smooth ride, extremely light don't really care about durability that much, fast, and quick responsive turning.
I tried both stiff and subtle type rides and they feel the same to me.

What are the best rims for what I am going to do? What could I do so I could run neverflats?

What is the best crankset? for weight and durability?

If weight is your gig, go for the SRAM RED. It is lighter than Dura-ace, easily. Personally, I like Dura-ace though.

To ensure optimum shifting performance, stick with SRAM cranks. Aftermarket cranks don't work as well, but that goes for Shimano and Campagnolo as well.

Rims? Depends on what you want and where you ride. If you want sprinting speed, carbon Zipps are the hot ticket, but not if you have crosswinds because the high flange will help blow you over into the ground. Climbing prowress? Go for American Classic Sprint 350 or the Magnesium model.

Or maybe a custom build with Tune hubs and Velocity Aerohead rims. There are also custom wheel builders that have thousands of options. Go to google and type in wheelbuilder and you will find them easily.

Airless tires on a Dura-ace bike-that's almost nonsensical. Just learn how to change a flat and you will be alright. It makes no sense to spend money on reducing weight only to add about three or four pounds to the bike in the area where you want it the least.

Keep it in the big ring.

I'm with Tom. If you actually purchase an Italian bike frame, I'd go for Campy record. There are tons of nice cranks, but I'd go Campy with the rest of the drive-train.

Like already said, neverflats on a super light, super expensive bike????

As for wheels, it depends on how much money you have. Lightweight Obermayer wheels are some of the lightest available. Cyclist that have super nice wheels usually have at least one other pair for general riding or training.

One thing, I'd never race a bike like this. Too expensive if you crash. Pro teams race 'em because they have the budget. Cat 5 races get dicey and you rarely will see a $6000 bike being raced there.

Campag Record - It'd be "wrong" to put anything other than Italian components on an Italian frame. lol

Neverflats...on a carbon bike with potentially top of the range components? I don't think you know what you're doing, mate.

gotta agree with Tom. go Campy all the way. if you've got the coin for a high-end Italian frame, use high-end Italian components. btw, it's Orbea, and ad De Rosa to your list as well.
