Yamaha R6 - As a first bike after passing my test? |
I have been riding for a while, at the moment I have a YZF R125, as I haven't passed my test. I don't want to go lower than a 600, is the R6 a good choice? Thanks for the advice, I think I will defintely keep my 125 for a while longer! Sorry to crash your question my dear - but people have given you good advice already and you seem to have already taken a wise decision. However just who the f**k is this bikernoj bloke? A true sanctimonious, self righteous, preaching twat for sure. Am not at all sure who appointed him all knowing God with a right to judge but having just read some of his other answers the pattern is clear. Thus don't be offended by his moronic answer, he is just a prat and his home would make slim pickings for an encyclopedia salesman as he obviously already thinks that he knows everything ! An individual we must suspect with no friends, social skills, real knowledge of anything and certainly not a true biker - as they do not treat other bikers in such a manner. I'll tell you exactly what i told some other guy: buy the R6, and make sure you book a place in the local cemetary! That would be like a novice driver getting in a Ferrari! A guy I know got an R6... Three weeks later he was laid in hospital, tubes everywhere, his jaw in 5 different pieces. I should hope the insurance cost would keep you off that bike, it is one of the fastest on the road, and not for the new rider, at all. You haven't passed your test and you think that a motorcycle powerful enough to smoke a Porsche with razor-sharp handling would be GOOD for you? R6 is a very quick good handling bike but not the bike to get experience on even if you can get it insured, take the beginner rider's club....ride around your 125 more maybe R6S? or one of those "less power" models? The R6 is not heavier than the R1 Any 600cc is overpowered for someone who has only just passed so keep with the 125 for a year before you even think about moving up to a 250 there only heavey when you drop them...dont worry go for the R6. |
