Dont you hate it when you ride up to an intersection...? |
with a red light and the bike doesnt register that your there and you lose your turn? Yes, liam O. It sucks if it doesnt register. You do have to illeagaly just go. When its safe, of course. Underneath the pavement there is an inductive-loop traffic detector. This loop detects the amount of iron inside the loop. The problem is that most motorcycles contain more aluminum alloys and fiberglass than iron. Not all of the loops recognize the magnets or "transmitter". It depends on the depth of the loop and the sensitivity of the controller. Some sensor loops won't detect a motorcycle at all. I have the magnet on mine as low as possible. It will trip about four of the lights here in either lane and one of them in no lanes. A couple more I have to remember which lane I am good in and still others I have to go around because I can't trip the left turn signal. Life sucks when you are new to a place with insensitive sensors! You have to wait for a cage to trip the signals for you. i dont know about other states, but in CA if your trying to make a left turn (lets say) and the light changes twice, and doesn't give you an arrow, you can legally run the red light. It just gives me a legal excuse to run redlights. I never stop at red lights. Waste of time. We have those in Missouri and I found if I come to a stop in the middle of the lane (yes, in all the oil), it'll trip. If I stop in either car track it doesn't activate. Try the middle and see what happens. i dont know what part of california but i just read the manual and it is never ok to run a red. I like the ideas of the transmitter, where can you get these? The legal loophole is you can run the red light there just tell the cops that the sensor did not recognize your bike ~ my brakes went out anyway so i dont worry about stopping Makes me so mad I could squash a grape :) I usually wait for awhile and if no ones coming I go. May not be legal but I'm not waiting all day for it to change. You can buy a transmitter for that It doesn't happen much at all since I started riding a Harley. they make a thing that transmits a signal to tell the light you are waiting. SID is correct. I know in my state they recently passed a law pertaining to that. Try it on a bicycle. It sucks even worse. I always try to park right on the wires. Sometimes it works are you sure you have to stop at the red ones? I also heard that all stop signs with a white outline are optional. No...I actually kind of like it. JK. I live in Ireland. What you mean? Is there a sensor at the junction? |
