I need proof if this is a scam or not. Know craigslist?

My uncle answered an add on craigslist. He was trying to buy a Harley Davidson fat boy for $4,800. which anyone whom knows anything about Harley's that's an to good to be true deal. He received two e-mails and forwarded them to me. The basics are this guy is in the air force and stationed over seas. He says he will send the bike and let my uncle drive it around for a while and if he doesn't want it send it back. The only catch is he says to send the money to a e-bay guy and they will hold the money until my uncle gets the bike and tries it out. He wants me to find out if it is a scam for sure or not. The problem is I don't know anything about e-bay. Please help me get PROOF either way.

No. This is bull. ebay only gets involved if you are bidding and buying through ebay. It must go through the ebay website, log in as a bidder, bid or buy it now, wait for acknowledgment from ebay. I've seen this 2 or 3 times in the last few months. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS. You can't sell ebay through craigslist. Next, he'll tell you it's to save the fees. Yeah, whatever. You're smart to have checked! Call ebay and they will tell you the same thing.

Google his email address..........he posts this scam all over the country. Ebay would not get involved in a non ebay transaction.

There is so much fraud going on especially involving ebay, paypal & craigslist. Just do a search for Ebay scams or Paypal scams. Most scams involve high ticket items and are pretty elaborate.
