What is with my bike?

i can't turn without the front wheel hitting my feet if the pedals are horizontal. who designed this bike? i wear size 14's are my feet just too big?

Where do you put your feet on the pedals. Barring any anatomical complications the ball of your foot should be centered over the pedal axle.

Assuming that's true you could still get some overlap of your foot and the front wheel. That shouldn't be a problem riding at speed because you turn more by leaning the bike than turning the bars.

At very slow speeds you turn the bars more. Just learn to keep the pedals at the 12 and 6 o'clock position and preferably the pedal toward the inside of the turn at 12 o'clock. This is also the proper pedal position for going through a turn at a high rate of speed where the bike would be leaned over quite a bit.

It doesn't necessarily mean the frame is too small. It means the bike has a short wheelbase and you have big feet. Try watching a bike road race (the Tour de France is on next month) and see how those guys ride through turns.

But I'm betting if you get your feet on the proper place on the pedals your problem may cease to be.

Sounds like your frame is too small. What you are experiencing is called toe overlap. You can try getting shorter cranks or switching to an oddball smaller front wheel, but ultimately, you probably need a new frame.

I think you need a bigger bike, (frame wise that is) or fit some smaller wheels ae. thats usually the main problem with issues like that
