Can you burn as many calories as riding a bike by sitting on a chair with your legs out in front and pedaling? |
Just wondering. no you cant. you will burn calories but not as many. remember when you pedal a bike you creating force (resistance) which burns more calories than just pedaling air sitting on a chair... not to mention all the other factors that go into pedaling a bike.... No, you wouldn't. It would be better if you did some rollerblading if you don't have a bike, or buy a stationary bike or do some lunges back and forth down the hall. Or do some running or jogging or fast paced walking for 30 minutes. Probably not as there is no resistance. I wouldn't swear on it though. Even if it initially did burn as many calories, after you did it three times, your body would adapt to it and no longer burn nearly as many calories. i bet this would to be hard to do for 30 min or so since you would tire your hip flexors from keeping your legs out fairly straight out. It would probably be good for your hips/ lower abs? |
