Bicycle Trouble

Something weird happened to my bike. I was switching gears (1-7), there was a weird noise, and "I think" a piece of metal on my bike bent.

The piece of metal is near the back tire, and it's spring-loaded. The chain runs through it.

I thought the chain had just come off one of the tires' gears, but that's not it. The chain is dragging on this piece of metal. It's impossible to pedal because of this, and some reason the chains keep coming off the gears.

Any idea how to fix it?

Something is wrong with your rear derailleur. It could be a number of things-- It might have been damaged, it might just need adjustment.

You should take it to a bike shop and have them look at it and see what needs to be done. It can be as simple as a $25 Derailleur tuneup, or if it's damaged you might need to get a new derailleur (cost anywhere from $100 and up).
