Is swimming a good cardio to maintain/decrease weight while preparing for knee surgery? |
I'm a dancer/dance teacher & I have to have knee surgery in 3.5 weeks to repair my meniscus from an acute injury last week. I just went swimming and didn't kick with the injured leg. It's a bit sore but I can manage. I don't want to gain weight (I typically work out at the gym 4 or more days per week, biking, elliptical, occasionally treadmill) on top of teaching dance 4 days per week- so this immobility is killing me! Doodle773 - Swimming is a great cardio exercise, especially for taking the stress off joints like your bum knee. Just treat it as you would any other. Duration, heart rate, etc. Swimming is great. It is low impact and good exercise. Good luck on your surgery. Absolutly! Swimming is amazing for you. I swim for about half an hour to an hour every other morning. |

Pour in gas change the oil and filter every once in awhile. Buy the F4i. ...Yes they can repair, there should be no problem in replacing the screen...expect to pay some $$ ...Not familiar with your year and model - but some Jap 4 cylinders had 2 sets of points around that age, some might have gone to magnetic pickups and capacitor discharge. Have run across closed point... It is not the bearings as previously mentioned. check out this site: ... It's very common that things will stretch and need to be readjusted after parts are replaced. Take the bike back to the shop that did the work. They should readjust it for free. If you want... It's possible that the rim or or the tire could be causing this. Sometime the rim strip isn't covering the inner rim well. Make sure the strip is in place. Or buy new strips $1 each usual... |
