Can any flat tyre be repaired?

I bought a new bike, did only half a mile, then i pumped the tyres because they were a bit flat, i do not know if i overdid it, but the front tyre is now completely flat, i had a look and there like an half inch cut in the tyre, what do i do?

Replace the tire no matter what. good tires are important. Worn or cut tires are just asking for more flats.

As for responsibility, you could ask the shop to replace it but it they don't you still need a new one.

If the cut is that large, a temporary fix would be to put a patch on the inside of the tire and then cover it with duct tape (the duct tape will prevent the patch from stretching and poking out the cut when the tube is inflated). But it is only temporary, the tire should be replaced.

With a 1/2 inch cut in the tire, the tube most likely can't be patched and should be replaced.

If the tyre was fully inflated when you left the store, the cut happened after and you need to replace the tyre and tube at your cost, if it wasn,t fully inflated, you should have noticed it right away as the bike wouldn,t have ridden very well.
However, if you speak nicely to the shop owner, he may take pity on you and help you out.
Fit a puncture proof tyre and tube this time as well ,http://www.schwalbe.co.uk

Depends upon the type of tyre and where the tyre is split.

I would look at replacing the tube with a 1/2" split. However, your tyre might be salvaged.

Take one empty tooth paste tube and cut boath ends off. Use this to line (Cut to shape) the inside of your tyre covering the split.

Fit the tyre to the wheel and pump up to about 10 -15 psi.

Superglue the split and press down to join the split (Watch the fingers). If this has taken, inflate to full pressure.

If this doesn't hold it, new tyre.

Luck

Yes, it depends on when the tire got cut, in store or out. My sneaking suspicion is that it happened during unpacking at the shop...but that's just me.

You need a new tube, definitely. I'd say to replace the tire. You could possibly salvage this one, but it's not worth the chance of it coming apart at a later time when you are in the middle of a ride.

Damaged tyres are a potential safety issue- forget about even trying to repair it and buy a new one.

just buy a new tire it is a safty issue

New Tyre time - sorry.

take the bike back could be a faulty tire?
