What is a good entry level Touring or Cruising bike, preferably Honda?

Honda VLX (600cc). I often leave my big cruiser parked and ride the VLX into town because its a fun bike. My wife has ridden 500 mile round trips on it.

Mine is a '95 I bought new and have put over 72,000 miles on.
It had twin spark plug and three valve heads long before Harley-Davidson, if you call that old tech. Chain drive is the most efficient way to transmit power, by the way.

I have a Shadow VLX 600. It was cheap so OK, I guess. Not much torque, not a lot of aftermarket stuff for it, pretty old tech. I hear that is a problm with the Honda's, they don't upgrade much. Mine is an '07 and it is still chain drive.
People with the Honda 750s seem happy, I'd start there.

honda rebel 250 for intown... honda shadow 500 for highway speeds...
