Why can't people that own Japanese cruiser bikes just buy and install HD Decals on their gas tank? |
instead of paying $20K for a HD, why not spend less than 1/2 of that on a Japanese cruiser and install Harley Davidson Decals on the gas tank? I am sooooo sick and tired when I have my Japanese cruiser bike at a gas station and some loser walks by and says " Nice Harley" You could put a Lamborghini decal on a Yugo and it'd still be a Yugo. Sorry Red, gotta side with the Harley idiots on this one. I think if someone is going to sacrifice all that performance and buy a cruiser, why not go all out and get the bike all other cruisers are styled after? If you cared about performance more than that corny antique look you wouldn't be riding a cruiser in the first place. So while I think the Japanese make better Harley's for 1/2 the price, it still isn't a Harley so what are you trying to do anyway? The Harley freaks (of which I'm one) will know the difference. And some of them (but not me) might kick your a-s-s for desecrating the symbol. It's not hard for anybody who knows ANYTHING about bikes to tell a Harley from Japanese. It's just not that hard to seperate the sheep from the goats, you know? Lots of Jap "cruisers" are water cooled, and a radiator is a dead give-away that it's definately NOT a Harley, no matter what you plaster on the gas tank! Well, if you do that, it may cause you to get re-educated, with some passing stranger kicking your backside next to the high test pump. If you want a Harley, buy a Harley. If you want something else, buy something else. Why would anyone care enough to pretend about their ride? I have a Harley because I've always wanted one, and my brothers all know how to fix them -- nothing to do with how I will look to others. I love my bike because I've always wanted one, and my brothers all know how to install the fun, little gadgets that I love to dress "her" up with !! Sorry, Joe. That's what you get when you buy a bike that looks like a Harley, especially to a non-rider. well if you don't want people misstaking then leave you're yamaha stickers on the bike.stock harleys aren't loud and drag pipes and a little tweak to the idle speed can make any v sound close enough. i own several bike an hd among the ranks, they all proudly fly their make. p.s. if you don't have a yamaha then look at a harley sometime because the other 3 big makers couldn't seriously be mistaken. LOL, go ahead & put stickers on if you want to. It's not all about WHAT you ride, it's that you RIDE! And yes, true riders/bikers WILL know the difference. I've had all makes over the years & I bought my WATER-COOLED HARLEY (120hp btw) because it's time to keep AMERICANS working. I love the performance & made it a cruiser with different bars.. To some all motorcycles are Harley's they are not riders and have no desire to ride a motorcycle. But if you have to ask that question you need to really look there are a lot more things different than the decals and the sound. If anyone could ever figure out how to make a VTX say sound like a Fat boy he would be a millionaire. But you need to look a lot closer why would you do that ? if the bike is a honda then its a honda.same with all the other japanese and the victory. there is only one HD and you will get you rear whooped by a hells angel, vago , hessian, or other bike groups for doing such a stupid thing. i ride a gold wing personally and i will know the difference in the bikes Some of us have had issues over the years with Harley bikes and Harley dealers and really wouldn't want anything Harley-Davidson on their bike. At the same time, if you have good luck with them and like them, rock on...I don't believe in trashing anyone's ride or being ashamed of my own...K ;o) My V Star Looks and sounds like a HOG but that's cause i got it striped down and theres no Yamaha emblems on it and its LOUD ! and i get the same responses on that bike nice Harley , that's just like people that don't know the difference between wood and laminate All them patch-holders mentioned here, dont care if you put a h-d sticker on your bike......they might have a good laugh for 5-10 minutes, but they dont care what your ridin, inless your an idiot on a crouch rocket, causin everybodys ins. to go up...... IF Nobody will know the difference, it would be good, unfortunatley, people can tell the difference. Additionally, you may get your butt kicked by a hells angel. The real HD riders will know. cause then harley would be out of business and wouldnt have anymore doctors and lawyers to sell to instead of the rebel's and drifters like the old days If you put H-D stickers on your bike you will lose 11.5 hp and cut your top end by 20 mph. BUT, you will retain the resale value. Maybe it's the Harley decals on your tank that's making them do that lol. People that know bikes would know the difference. You should get some decals that say Hardly A Davidson. yea hd is a sell out. I love the jap bikes but the "american made" should be made here......... HD riders are just pissed they got fooled by a ever cheapening name that is scared to admit they are a sell out....... YO! Joe B's giving you another shot, ninebadteeth. Thats 2 oppurtunitys here in just a couple minutes. Don't let me down. they can buy them, but when they start the bike up and hear the pipes, they'll know it's not a harley. Put a Rolls hood emblem on a Nissan if thats what you want to do Why would they want to, when they made a smart choice and should be proud of it. If the manufacturers could, they would. Really now. Cooling fins on a water cooled engine? Buy a used one. We payed about 6k and it was practically brand new. Yes...we will. That borders on sacrilege. Heresy. And it's just plain wrong. you must have lots of friends |
