*Vultures Knob>>>Cruiser Bike

I'm looking for a sport/street bike style motorcycle with the comfort of a cruiser. Any suggestions?

I love the fun of a street bike, but would like to ride for more than an hour of two at a time...any good bikes in mind?
I'd like to spend less than $7000.

A guy I know just bought an 05 FZ1000 for $5500. Very fast but more upright seat than a R1 or GSXR. Sit on some bikes an d see what fits You best.

The bike you are looking for that fits everything you want in a sport bike is the Suzuki GSX650F

They come in right under 7000 brand spanking new, its a nice looking bike, has a more upright seating position than the GSXR, has a full seat that anyone you put on the back of it will appreciate more than the butt pads the supersports have. It gets a lot better gas milage than the GSXR, and is tuned to have a little more low and mid, rather than putting all the power between 7000 and 15,000 RPMS like the GSXR, that makes it a little better cruiser.

Go check one out, I dont think you will be disappointed.

You can take a look at the SV's while you are there...but they are a little more forward than the GSX650.

Yamaha Fz6, Suzuki Vstrom, kawasaki versys, or a used kawasaki concours or bmw would all be good choices. If you want to go naked, a used SV650 or ducati monster both have comfortable ergonomics. I am partial to the vstrom, I have put plenty of miles on mine including many 800+ mile days with no comfort issues. Whatever you get, set aside some money for an aftermarket seat like corbin or sargent, they make a huge difference for any motorcycle.

I would never recommend a cruiser to anyone, the forward foot controls put you in a position where you cannot fully control the bike.

Like Bugz says the suzuki katana gsx600f is a good choice it is sporty but still comfortable for you and a passenger. This bike has virtually remained unchanged for the last 15 years. You can find a good used one for under 2000 dollars. The only drawback is all the sportbike guys will call your katana " A CAN OF TUNA" because it is heavier and a little slower.

Sports bikes are for people that need to impress people by speed. A cruiser is a comfortable ride in town and on the highway. Imaging a long trip laying across the tank of your bike. Doesn't sound like fun or relaxing to me! Cruisers may not seem as fast but IF I want to, I can squeeze out 100+ out of my bike. I have ridden at 115 and it ain't nothing to write home about. Why are people in such a hurry to get to the scene of the wreck? Take your time and enjoy the ride!

any sport bike is MORE comfortable than a cruiser
best bikes under $7K are the Suzuki SV650, Kawasaki 650 Ninja, and Yamaha FZ6
