How can i convince my parents to get me a dirt bike?

I've loved dirt bikes ever since i rode my friends. But i crashed. I've been asking for a dirt bike for like 2 years but my parents have all these excuses. ex. it'll tear up the lawn. i think i have a 1/2 acre backyard.that's enough to ride. i just really want one. where can i get a not so expensive one. if its not too expensive my mom might let me get it. i think pete's cycles?

look on craigslist they have bikes as low as 150

Half an acre really is not a lot of room to ride a dirt bike on and if it is nice pristine lawn perhaps your parent have a point about not wanting it torn up.

Perhaps try and give them another alternative as to where you can ride in the area and maybe that will change their minds, if the lawns stay intact.

take your parents on a ride with you and let them experience how fun it is and let them get to know who you ride with so if you get injured they won't be with strangers it also assures them your with trustworthy people

If you don't want a Brand new one you can search Craigslist. They will have some cheap ones on there. Just search your state and go the motocycles and look down the list.

tell them if they buy u a dirt bike... u won't burn the house down! ;]
