Does the exercise bike really work? |
I need to loose about a 100lbs and have just started going back to the gym I LOVE LOVE LOVE the bike and do it for about a hour and 30 min on the treadmill but I am really wondering if the bike is working??? i hope so cuz i ride one every day and i lost weight. however i run twice as much on the treadmill everyday too. good luck! firstly give up that bike it'll make you very lazy & you'll most probably gain more weight as you're not really making a life change you're just being lazy. You've got to put a plan in place not just go & workout at the gym what a waste of time & money. If you've got a good supportive friend, make some time & go walking for 30 mins to start with. fresh air & exercise those lungs & of course your heart. Change the way you eat because you're not really going to loose 100lbs you're going to need some good support here from friends, family & of course I hope you've seen you're doctor to help you on your way of losing weight & remember when you decide to make that decision to lose weight or go on a diet it's a whole life change, from the way you eat, excercise putting aside that sugary donut or glass of wine which we all know is sugar sugar. We have enough sugar in most of our foods, milk, bread so many food products have sugar & some. Drink less caffeine, more water (not too much), eat healthier as we all know WE ARE WHAT WE EAT. cut down on your bread, potatoes, rice most starches, don't cook your food in fat for example cooking a roast chicken - cook it in water it's so much better for you & there's enough fat in those kind of foods. If you're a smoker cut down but one step at a time. cook meals at home don't go & buy all those takeouts, mcdonalds (bad for you). ask for advice from your doctor as they can help sometimes. make a list of your long term, short term goals & how much weight you'd like to loose to start with, don't go & say I need to loose 100lbs now as it'll take a very long time & when you get upset, stressed etc you'll eat more & that's something you want to avoid. Get your self a walking partner (friend etc), do some stretches before you go walking just to warm up your calf muscles, leg muscles etc. Take your pulse before you go walking count 15seconds then multiply that by 4 & you'll have your resting pulse(without any excercise), then take your pulse again once you've excercised then you'll actually know if you've done enough or too much. Take it slow as you body will tell you if you've over done it. So all the best in you massive weight lose. one day at a time, one step at a time. 100 pounds is a damn lot to lose. |
