How is a Dahon Speed D7 folding bike compared to a regular bike in riding distance?

I have a Dahon Speed D7 and I love it. I used to have a Dahon Boardwalk S1 but needed to get some gears due to my hilly environment.
Anyway, it should be fine for day to day commutes. I wouldn't recomend it for any Century rides, but casual touring should be fine. A plus is that you can always fold it up and catch a ride back home. If given a choice though, I would much rather take my Rockhopper on longer distances than my Dahon , but the little thing is so convenient.

This really depends on how far you are going and how much you usually ride. If you're talking about a 10 mile commute, it's not going ot be a really big deal. If you're talking about a 50 mile ride, it will be a significant difference. Terrain will also make a difference; are you going to be climbing big hills? The smaller wheels don't role as smoothly as a standard size bike. Also, the bike is going to weigh more. You also might find that you have a somewhat compromised riding position. With all that said, this is a great option.
