Worst place you'v ever been to?

skegness is scruffy and chav city, loads of unhealty people going around on mobility scooters. i'd hate to live there

Blackpool by far. It's a scumming, dirty place full of people who are fat and look so unhealthy they appear to be quite literally, clinging to life. Coventry comes a close second.

Haylilng Island in Hampshire. What a boring place!! You can't move on the pavements for old people on mobility scooters. The pubs are nearly all boarded up! The beach is rubbish-shingle only! Shopkeepers are rude and suspicious of 'outsiders'. Seems to me the majority of the population are over 75 and just waiting (or probably hoping) to die!! Avoid at all costs. If you find yourself in this area visit Portsmouth instead. At least Portsmouth has a bit going on!!

DETROIT, MI! worst place in the world. no doubt about it. highest crime rate in the country. highest unemployment in the country. worst housing market and highest home foreclosures in the country.

no public transportation of any sort. no tourism. no sightseeing. no entertainment. nothing to do except get drunk at the bars or watch the locals gamble away their welfare checks at the casinos.

theres nothing there except old dirty shut-down factories and old burnt-out shells of abandoned houses. its just wall-to-wall dirty slum with crime everywhere. not safe to walk the streets anywhere without getting mugged or killed.

its worse than HELL. even the devils wont go there. when priests exorcise possessed people they threaten to take them to detroit so the demons flee back to hell for refuge.

Any where in the UK, is OK for me.
Including Birmingham and Skegness!
I agree with your answer re France, it is a dump, and when I see these TV programmes about UK folk buying a holiday home there, I want to puke!!
I have worked and lived in lots of places in the world.
Without any doubt the worse spot has been Nigeria, you don't know the meaning of corrupt unless you have been there.
The government is corrupt , and it has spread to the people, say no more, it is Nigeria.

Zakynthos an Ionian island off the coast of Greece, holidayed once - never ever again, over-run with chav Brits on quad bikes and scooters being just plain arseholes, allowing their 14 yr old kids to get drunk on 'fishbowls' (punch bowls with 90% alcohol and 10% mixer - a shared bowl to be drunk through a straw)

I saw a side of my fellow Brits that I hope I will never see again !!

Ohhhhhhhhh........and the natives were totally intollerant to all tourists

gratham lincs. bleak, cold & peopled by fat chavs of all ages who've forgotten how to smile.
some on scooters, the rest plodding/stumbling to the local fast-food/cafes to eat breakfast, then plan what they will eating for lunch or grazing on in front of soaps of an evening!
everyone seemed obsessed with filling their faces.
I did have one laugh, the Police Station is indeed located in Letsbe Avenue.

Blaenau Ffestiniog. NOT the people just the landscape of the place, it is seriously the most disturbing looking place I have ever been.

Why is everyone slagging Birmingham? It may be grotty in a few places but what city isn't? I love Brummies.

I find this hard because there are lots of places I could say here but usually the people are great even if the place is a sh1thole.

Sheffield. My ex-partner was beat up in a place called 麓The Manor麓, and despite it being the rush hour, and many witnesses, they didn麓t come to help or phone the police. when the police arrived, and my ex-partner taken to hospital, the told him a few days later there was nothing they could do. Funny how you mention Skeggy - don麓t they call the town 麓Sheffield By The Sea麓?

3rd prize - the Asian part of Istanbul, far away from where the tourists go - no rubbish collections ever, no running water or electric for much of the day, filthy and mosquito ridden, full of stray cats & dogs being kicked by the locals!
2nd prize, Southend on a Saturday, full of unspeakable Essex types ( you know the type!)
1st prize, Cardiff town centre on a Saturday night - girls dropping their pants & doing their business on the pavement (don't they have toilets in Wales?), then vomiting! Nice! And it was only 10pm - the nearest I've ever been to a biblical description of Hell!!

Wisconsin Dells-we went on our honeymoon at the end of the season and all the vendors were hostile and rude. The hotel people were rude too. We were a happy couple just thrilled to be on our honeymoon but people were really awful to us. When we left we were told that that season had a lot of rude tourists so that's why everyone was so mean. I will never go back!

Turkey for me.
The locals were scruffy and dishonest.
The food was poor and handled unhygeinically.

This was Kusadasi,a slightly upmarket resort and their best hotel.

How people go year after year to lesser resorts in Turkey astounds me.

London!!! I found the people rude, ignorant, and utterly self centred.

I must also agree with Private. I went to Kusadasi, in Turkey, and had a similar experience. Horrible place, and the "Daisy hotel" where we stayed was like a D.S.S. squat. Never again!!!

ok- I'm with whoever said Hayling Island. My Nan lives there - it is well known as a retirment island. Everybody goes there to die, and it is a total hole. It's disgusting.

South ALabama- a bunch of rednecks and racists, with a Confederate flag flying right over the interstate, no joke. You could google search it I'm sure. It's on I-65
