Will my wheels work on this bike? is it worth it?

i own a set of 27 x 1 1/4 inch wheels that are singel-speed. i am looking for some kind of frame to put them on. i sumbled across this on craigslist and i was wondering if anyone would know if it would work?

i understand that its a mtb frame but i thought it was worth a try.
also is this a decent quality schwinn, I.E. not a wal-mart bike.

im thinking of building a single-speed commuter type frankeinbike and i need your help.

Are we sure that's not a cross-frame? It kinda looks like it. That is what you'll probably need for 27 inch wheels, but for 25 bucks you can always try it. It says it comes with wheels, anyway. It does have horizontal drop-outs, so it is definitely single-speed compatible.
