Comp/Collision on Scooter Insurance?

I have a one year old scooter and my insurance is up for renewal. Should I keep Comp and Collision (at $100 Deductibles each)? I've had two incidents this past year which needed repairs and I didn't even claim them to apply the $100 deductible.

I paid $4000 for it brand new and it currently has 1100 miles on it. For $463/year, it would cost less to have the insurance versus buying a new (or used) one if it got stolen.

That depends on several things. Is the scooter financed? If so, then the bank will require you to carry comp and collision on it until the loan is paid off.

Otherwise, you need to consider whether it is worth paying for the coverage. Would you be able to replace the scooter if it was stolen or totaled? Or would you even bother to replace it? You have to weigh the benefits of having coverage versus how much you have to pay for it, along with the value of the vehicle.

Since you didn't apply claims toward your deductible...up the deductible. That will bring your premium down. You are paying for something you aren't using.
