Best Sport Bike Makers ????

I only know of Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Honda. And of course Ducati(but they're is too expensive). If you don't know of any other sport bike makers than tell me which is the best because I'm looking at getting one used. I want a pretty good engine too. I think a 400cc is good but I dont know.

All of the above manufactures make a great sport bike. There are a few others out there, but they are very small in the market. In addition, all of the sport bike manufacturers concentrate on the 600, 1000, and to a smaller degree the 750 class. Kawasaki makes a 250, and Suzuki makes a very good 650. The Suzuki 650 GSX, is a sporty, good handling, easy to ride bike. It is not a full blown race bike, as the other 600s are, but for a beginning, to intermediate rider, it is certainly the way to go. Look at Cycle Worlds magazine this month, and read about the ten best, as well as the other articles and you will get a fair evaluation of this bike. Also you will find it as a more comfortable two up bike. Stay within the big 4 and you will find lower maintenance, and more parts availability later on. Do not buy a Chinese bike unless you want to be frustrated by lack of reliability, service and parts. They break. You will find in most cases IT is better to buy new than a used sport or even semi sport bike. The GSX650 is around $2000 less than the 600 class industry leaders, Honda CBR600 RR, Yamaha 600R, Suzuki GSXR 600, and the Kawasaki 600. Also insurance is less as well. In addition you can finance one of the 650s for about 100 dollars a month. Good luck.

Best sport bike for who? For what purpose? Best for the money or best no matter what the cost?

Some say that Ducatis and Aprilias are the best, but then why are champion racers winning often with the Japanese bikes like Suzukis and Yamahas?

You can also ask what is the best sport bike maker in regards of having the best selection of bikes for different levels of riders and I'd say Kawasaki and Suzuki.

There aren't any 400cc sport bikes sold in the U.S. so I couldn't tell you anything about them.

You can trust Hyosung, they made Suzuki's motors for years and their GV650 motor looks a lot like the 650 vtwin Susie motor. Out of the ones you listed Kawasaki is the best and strongest motors, People do not like it known but for years the hot set up in a susie was a Kawasaki clutch basket modified to fit. The race bike you see on TV are like the cars they have little in common with you can buy in a dealers.

You're high as a kite if you listed Japanese bikes, anyone that knows at least a shred about racing and sportsbikes knows:

MV Agusta
Ducati
Benelli
Bimota
Aprilia

Those bikes whoop on the Japanese bikes as far as technology, horsepower and design. Especially the top two listed. Ughk... I don't think I would ever even buy anything other than an MV Agusta now, even though I got started on Ducati.

I'll gladly race you quarter mile or race track on an MV Agusta F4 312 R.

Have a look at Triumph - the triple engine has a nice sound and meaty powerband.

The good thing about Triumph is that it鈥檚 not as well known and you have a better chance getting a bike not abused by a squid. You can probably get a used one at a good price.

There is another very good Italian made bike that has not been mentioned yet, it is Aprilia and they make great bikes that are very reliable and fast. As far as the big 4 the best I have ridden are Suzuki and Yamaha.

Yes the ones you listed are the majority. There is also buell and hyosung. Heard mixed reviews over hyosung and nothing for buell. Go and pick up a cycletrader, that will pretty much cover most of them.
