What would be a good sport bike for my first motorcycle. I Have never owned a biki?

A 250 Ninja has alot going for it as a first sportbike. I used to call it a sheep in wolf's clothing because a 250 seems so insignificant and it looks so much like any fire breathing full on sport bike. But then I looked at the specs and a few reviews and it really is a great bike for it's size. It's around $3500 new, gets 80mpg and will wipe the floor with an 883 Sportster.

Bigger sport bikes are just too unforgiving for a beginner, start with something reasonable and fun and get a bigger bike when you have put in the miles and earned the right. The laws of nature are strictly enforced.
