Does height matter when picking a Street Bike?

So i'm looking into buying a motorcycle, and i was wondering if my size matters in choosing a bike. I'm new to motorcycles and from what i've read the Kawasaki Ninja 250R sounds like a good place to start. Just don't know if i'm too big for it or something. I'm 5'9". Any feedback would be awesome. or other suggestions would help too. Thanks Guys/Girls.

Only overly short, overly tall and overly heavy people have bike issues. You are close to average height for motorcyclists and shouldn't have any problems. Only the larger enduro tourers would be tricky.

I don't understand all the many mentions of the kaw ninja 250R,it's like this site is sponsored by Kawasaki or something!?! and I can't advise you either way, in regards to this particular motorcycle...
I can, however, offer the advice to you to get involved with your newly found pursuit, and go to some dealerships, sit on as many bikes as they allow you to, ride your pal's bikes, steal a bike if you have to, just to see what it's like...
Don't be a' newby 'on line asking us to tell you how to live your life on two wheels!
Aquire some balls prior to the purchase, because you're going to need to call on them oneday out on the highway!
Don't ask other people to decide what bike is good for you as a beginner.Go out, and do some field work, and gather your own opinion. After all, it's your *** that's going to be sitting on the bike! No one can tell you what's good for you!
If you are so disconnected from the world of bikes, I suggest that you don't bother...I don't want to see you out there, riding a bike that someone else told you to buy!Good luck to you>

It always helps if you can touch the floor from the seat height of any bike but that's about it.

Being big is never really an issue and anyway at 5ft 9 you aren't too big for the bike you suggest.

I don't see why you should think that you are......if you've read up on it as you say then you must be aware of the seat height.
