Can you use regular oil in a high performance street bike?

I have a 2007 suzuki gsx r600 and using a K&N oil filter kn-138 for my bike.

MY QUESTION IS: If the bike say to use SAE 10w-40 i can just put like regular Havoline 10w-40 oil right? They're isn't a special oil to use in bikes other than just staying with the viscosity.

You should have posted in motorcycles, but yes you can use regular oil just use the correct weight.
