How do I find bike trails maps from Pittsburgh, PA to Oakland, MD.

Okay.. I'm trying to plan a biking trip from Pittsburgh, PA to Oakland, MD. We plan to travel on trails only. Please help!

You probably want to ride the Great Allegheny Passage that goes from Pittsburgh to Cumberland Md. I have been on this trail and it's very nice There is a slight incline from Pittsburgh until you get to the Big Savage Tunnel ( where the Eastern Continental Divide is) just a few miles before you get to the Maryland and Pa border.

Once you cross the Continental Divide its all down hill from there. There is another trail that follows the Potomac river (an old canal route) from Cumberland Md to Washington D.C.
The C&O Canal Tow Path, see the link below.

The Rail to Trails link is nice but you have to register to access the mapes. No big deal it's free and it's a great orginization.
I don't know why they don't have the C & O Canal Toe Path on their site.

Take a camera with and enjoy the small towns along the way.

Has info for trails in all the states.
Enjoy your trip.
